Cancelling your Appointment
If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone or use the link at the bottom of this page to cancel your appointment.
By giving us as much notice as you can you are helping us to make sure that someone else is given your slot.
Both practice sites are open 8am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday, closing only on Bank Holidays.
Please enquire about early morning (before 8am), late evening (after 6.30pm) and Saturday morning appointment availability - routine appointments are available at these times but must be booked in advance. Saturday surgeries are held at the Fireclay Health St George site and provide a range of other clinician appointments in addition to GP appointments.
Both sites allow level access from the car park, lifts to the first floor and disabled toilet facilities.
See our Contact Details page for practice location. For directions from your postcode, please use our map tool
The practice is always closed on Bank Holidays - please ensure prescription requests are made well in advance at holiday periods to ensure you do not run out of medication.
(18:30 – 08:00 Mon-Fri, all day weekends & bank holidays)
If you need medical help or advice when the Health Centre is closed but it's not life-threatening:telephone 111 (free from landlines and mobiles) and/or visit www.nhs.uk for health information online
The NHS 111 service may refer you to BrisDoc (our out of hours healthcare provider) in which case a Doctor will phone you back or visit you or you may be asked to attend one of their Primary Care Centres. Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the practice re-opens.
For information on Urgent Care services including Minor Injury Units (walk-in service), Pharmacies, Dentists etc, use the Services near you menu on www.nhs.uk or telephone 111. From 15/4/19, Yate Minor Injuries Unit will be open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week (including Bank Holidays) - this includes X-ray services.
Sexual Health Services are provided locally by Unity
Self care information can be found at www.patient.info as well as www.nhs.uk and on this website's Self Care menu.
For support from a member of the Health Visiting Team, attend a Baby Clinic or telephone for advice - see further information below.
Please attend Baby Clinic to have your baby weighed prior to their 8 week review with the GP. You do not need to weigh your baby more than once a month unless advised to do so - weighing your baby too often may cause unnecessary concern.
Your ‘Red Book’, which will be provided by a midwife, is a useful source of information. It is important to bring your child's Red Book with you every time you attend baby clinic or a health related appointment for your child so that this record can be kept up-to-date.
