Flu vaccine appointments available now - please call reception to book

We use Sanofi Flu vaccine and have used their software system very successfully in the past to contact patients by landline voice message and/or text to mobile to invite for flu immunisation. We have become aware that problems with this system have resulted in a number of patients receiving a phone message on 6 & 7 Sept outside the hours of 9-6.30pm which were set up as contactable hours. We sincerely apologise for this inconvenience and can confirm that we have instructed Sanofi to cease this service until we are reassured it is correctly working.  We are informed by Sanofi that this is a national issue with their service that they are looking into urgently.  For more information see our Flu vaccinations page under Services  [last updated 7/9/18]

SMS & email appointment reminders not currently being sent

We have made the decision to switch off all text appointment booking confirmations and reminders as a bug introduced in a June update of our clinical system caused SMS notifications to be sent for all appointments where previously certain appointment types were set not to send notifications. Despite our best efforts in trying to mitigate the impact of this bug, this led to patients turning up at the surgery for appointments where this was not required (e.g. telephone triage appointments), causing considerable inconvenience for patients and staff alike. Our clinical system supplier have not been able to provide us with a date for this bug to be fixed so we have decided it is safer to switch off all SMS notifications for the present. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We will be aiming to restore this functionality as soon as we safely can. [last updated 24/7/18]

Welcome to the Fireclay Health website

Fireclay Health was formed from the merger of St George Health Centre & Lodgeside Surgery on 1st April 2018.  Neighbouring East Bristol practices, with overlapping geographical boundaries and a successful history of working together, the decision to merge was taken due to the increasing demands and pressures on GP services.  We intend to build on the individual practice's successes, with committed staff and a strong management team providing a patient-centred approach to care.

Fireclay Health now provides GP & nursing services to around 22,000 registered patients, covering the area from Redfield & St George to Kingswood & Fishponds and combining 'business as usual' for our existing patients with access to a greater range of appointments across both sites.

From 1st July 2018, Lodgeside Surgery will not be open on a Saturday morning - all Saturday surgeries will be held at the Fireclay Health St George site (Bellevue Road, St George, Bristol).
